OAuth-OpenID: You’re Barking Up the Wrong Tree if you Think They’re the Same Thing

by holyver (via)
OAuth, OpenID…they sound like the same thing and they kind of do vaguely similar things But I’m here to tell you, OAuth is not Open ID. They have a different purpose. I’ve been playing around with OAuth a bit in the past couple weeks and have a grip on what it’s aiming to do and what it’s not aiming to do. To start with, here’s what OAuth does have in common with Open ID

Magnum : Pandora's Box

by sbrothier
Mistress Raven directed a staff of 14 at Pandora's Box, a 4000-square-foot, high-class Manhattan S & M club that bills itself as the "Disneyland of Domination." Interspersed with pages made of latex, rubber, colored gels, and other erotic materials, Magnum photographer Susan Meiselas's documentary photographs of the club's highly formalised rules and rituals, its role-playing "vacations from reality," reveal both the customers who frequent the club and the women who command them. Wrapping up the week - Tao of Mac

by karlcow

I borrowed a copy of JavaScript: The Good Parts and have been playing around with that hideous language to the extent that I now think of it as lambda calculus with semicolons (which is good, trust me).

you are my woman

by blackgoldfish
"this painting is inspired by Garbo and Riley, the cats who share our home. And the title is a bit of an inside joke in our family. Riley seems to love Garbo, and of course in true cat fashion, she seems to want nothing to do with him...but we think she's just playing coy. Secretly she loves him."

Alice.org

by karlcow

Alice is an innovative 3D programming environment that makes it easy to create an animation for telling a story, playing an interactive game, or a video to share on the web. Alice is a freely available teaching tool designed to be a student's first exposure to object-oriented programming. It allows students to learn fundamental programming concepts in the context of creating animated movies and simple video games. In Alice, 3-D objects (e.g., people, animals, and vehicles) populate a virtual world and students create a program to animate the objects.

Manage It : know when it’s time to leave « Laurent’s Weblog

by greut

If you can’t remove yourself from architecture or design so that you can concentrate on managing the project, it’s time to choose. Either manage this project or become one of the technical staff. But don’t try to do both.

I'm not the only one to think that Architect and PM aren't playing well together.
