yellowBird Video Platform Puts You In the Middle, But Can It Tell a Story? - Jawbone.tv - The Evolution of Story.

by sbrothier
Interactive video has a long way to go, but Netherlands based yellowBird and their 360 degree offering might help move it along. We, as a species, watch a lot of vids. Buckets full, really. And for the most part, we're comfortable pressing play and being spoon-fed the story. This, at least in part, explains the lukewarm reception - commercially speaking - of interactive films. Most of the 'interactivity' centers on controlling the story.

rules for living well

by blackgoldfish
Choose quality over quantity with everything - shoes, friends, food - everything. Look into alternative forms of medicine. Take the time to figure out who you really are, what you like and dislike, what you need and don't. Live within your means and respect every dollar you make. Cultivate a passion. Eat Real Food! Stay away from processed and buy local whenever you can. Refuse to give in to texting. As hard as it is, acknowledge and work on whatever keeps you from living the life of your dreams. Refuse to play small or dim your light in order to make others comfortable. Listen to your body. Spend part of every day in silence, even if it's ten minutes. Create a living space that reflects who you are. Make visual beauty a priority. Tell people you love them often. Be true to yourself at all costs.

by ycc2106
The following page provides a graphic interface for exploring the International Phonetic Alphabet. To use the resource simply click on any link to hear an illustrative example. For example, most rows in the Pulmonic chart (Manner of Articulation) have descriptive audio that explains each row completely. Other charts (Non-Pulmonic, Vowels etc.) have detailed audio descriptions available by clicking on the chart title. Within each chart, clicking on any IPA character will play an example of that sound. With consonants, you will hear the sound in exclusion followed by an intervocalic example. You will need a recent browser and QuickTime installed on your computer in order to use the page to the fullest. You will also need a UVic NetLinkID to access these copyrighted materials.

Juxt Interactive

by sbrothier & 1 other
UXT is a company that creates from the ground up, top to bottom, or even sideways. It kinda makes sense since we were started by a couple of architects. Lots of people ask us if we only do digital work. Well we like to think and play where people are, and these days that just happens to be the Internet. That suits us just fine because the online space has far less restrictions and barriers than other media. Juxt does not take kindly to limits, or being put in a box.
