Pour la première fois, le Festival européen des 4 Écrans récompensera les trois meilleurs web-films de 2008 et 2009. Parmi ces douze œuvres conçues spécifiquement pour Internet, neuf web-documentaires. Un genre encore en phase d’expérimentation, donc difficile à définir.

More than one hundred thou­sand person­al raw data sets were crawled from the web to fill this pa­ram­e­ters with subject mat­ters. Based on the thesis that the dig­ital identity is measur­able and compa­ra­ble these data sets were vi­su­alized us­ing custom compu­tational tools.

These stud­ies were designed to under­stand the data and determine its char­ac­ter­is­tics regard­ing the construction of dig­ital identity.

Af­ter the anal­ysis phase the data was vi­su­ally abstracted and interpreted to give the disembod­ied dig­ital identity a unique and char­ac­ter­is­tic »Gestalt« in form of a generated sculp­ture.

The paper shows case study of a multi-phase transformation taking data from a legacy ASCII-based interchange format, to XML based on a standardized vocabulary. The transformations illustrate the power of new features including regular expression handling, grouping, recursive functions, and schema-aware processing.

There are ninety versions of this panorama, each depicting the same scene under a different weather condition, time of day, and (at night) phase of the moon.

Thanks to an XML feed from weather.com, and some PHP jiggery pokery, the end result is a fairly accurate representation of what my parents see when they look out of their upstairs windows.

As a second phase of the UrbanDiary project, the data collection focuses on the participants perception of their routine and activity.

Comme son nom l’indique plus ou moins, ce site ne sert à rien. Comme son nom ne l’indique pas, il s’agit d’une expérience artistique.

Ca sert à rien et pour l’heure, les gens en sont encore à la phase de test : difficile donc de tomber sur autre chose que des lol, mdr et assimilés. C’est pourri, et ça fait une heure que j’y suis (et visuellement, ça en jette). Mais ça a pas plus de prétention que ça.
