At 12:01am Tuesday morning, it filed three separate lawsuits against just about everyone you can think of, including Apple, Nokia, RIM, Sprint, AT&T, HP, Motorola, Helio, HTC, Sony Ericsson, UTStarcomm, Samsung and a bunch of others.

Funambol provides mobile 2.0 messaging software powered by open source. It includes a mobile data synchronization server that pushes email to mobile phones from Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL Mail, POP/IMAP servers and other email servers. It enables you to synchronize PIM (contacts and calendar) data with SyncML devices (e.g. Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens, etc.). There are also Funambol- and community-provided plug-ins and clients for devices without SyncML, such as Outlook, BlackBerry (community project), Windows Mobile, Palm (community project), Java-enabled devices and iPods. You can setup a full PIM sync system that allows Outlook contacts and calendar events to stay in sync with all of your wireless devices. Funambol also provides a mobile platform and tools to develop, deploy and manage wireless applications that work in connected or disconnected mode. It includes an open source device management server that provides a framework to manage mobile devices, automatically provisioning and configuring them over-the-air. Funambol is a certified open source implementation of the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Data Synchronization (DS) and Device Management (DM) protocols, commonly referred to as SyncML. Funambol offers the myFUNAMBOL portal that lets anyone get email on their mobile phone and that syncs PIM data to their devices.

Linux crescerebbe al pari di Godzilla se fossero reali, sempre più diffuso, usato e commentato dagli utenti, ma non è finita le grandi compagnie multinazionali dei computer, telefonia e tecnologia in generale prendono sempre più in considerazione il pinguino ed i suoi aspetti tecnici, pratici ed economici, ed ecco che nasce anche la prima fondazione, si tratta della LiMo Foundation, la fondazione capeggiata da compagnie del mondo della telefonia.
I nomi dei principali membri sono tutt'altro che anonimi, Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, PANASONIC, SAMSUNG e Vodafone, tutti protagonisti della telefonia a livello mondiale e Linux al centro di questa iniziativa per lo sviluppo della piattaforma mobile targata Linux, solo fino a qualche anno fa sarebbe stato impensabile associare Linux a nomi di questo calibro, segno che i tempi cambiamo e qualcuno ne deve prendere atto.
La nuova LiMo Foundation al suo avvio è presieduta da Greg Besio del gruppo Motorola, il suo vice sarà Kiyohito Nagata della NTT DoCoMo, l'attività principale della Fondazione sarà quella di promuovere lo sviluppo del software legato alla telefonia e Linux in generale, al fine di ampliare l'offerta dei servizi ed applicazioni della telefonia mobile del futuro, traendo benefici sia le aziende che gli stessi consumatori, questo è il fine proposto, vedremo quali e quanti vantaggi produrrà questa Fondazione.

there was a tiny, cute computer called the Atari ST, a powerful machine based on an eight megahertz Motorola MC68000. Back in 1987 when the ST godfathers, the Exceptions (TEX), released their first demo "READ_ME.PRG" and the followups "Little Sound Demo" and "Little Colour Demo", the age of Atari ST demos began. The Exceptions were the inspiration for most if not all demo programmers (including the writer of these lines). Dozens of demos have been released in the following years. This website will just list those that should never be forgotten by the ST community...
