A JavaScript library to support HTML5 in non-compliant browsers

Add. Bruce Lawson : Dean was showing his new JavaScript library that plugs the holes in browsers’ HTML 5 implementations. If a browser does do something natively, ther library does nothing; otherwise it fills that gap—so now you can have Web Forms with all browsers, canvas in IE. As a bonus, it’s all keyboard accessible, everything looks like native UI controls and it even inherits the native Windows themes. I’m looking forward to helping beta test this baby.

The TableGear package has two parts. TableGear.php is concerned with fetching data, formatting it, and getting it into an XHTML table. It also handles submitted data, both from AJAX calls and a standard POST, and returns data to the application. TableGear.js handles the client-side functions that make the tables dynamic including sorting, editing and keyboard shortcuts. These scripts can be used independently, but are designed to be used together.

Shut your Mac down, don’t get up...
I bought an Apple Mac Mini to use as a media center. Apple ships OS X Leopard with Front Row, which is great, except I found an important feature lacking: you need a keyboard to shut your Apple down. Not what you want in a chique remote controlled home cinema setting. I made a Shut Down plug-in for Front Row. It appears there are a lot of people that don’t want to get up to switch off their Mac up after watching a movie!

valuable information about the CMF format which i tried to reverse-engineer back in the "Recreative Game Maker" era, due to the lack of proper edition tool.
My guess is that such tool did not exists except in the form of "take that MIdI file, and use this SBI (sound blaster instrument) for that midi instrument, etc.
Perhaps they even simply had an OPL2 midi synthetizer so that they could plug a midi keyboard on it and be happy.

Despite the many JavaScript libraries that are available today, I cannot find one that makes it easy to add keyboard shortcuts(or accelerators) to your javascript app. This is because keyboard shortcuts where only used in JavaScript games - no serious web application used keyboard shortcuts to navigate around its interface. But Google apps like Google Reader and Gmail changed that. So, I have created a function to make adding shortcuts to your application much easier.

Hey all, a quick and dirty greasemonkey script to let you use the left and right arrow keys to view the next and previous photos on flickr. It's something I wish flickr did by default but doesn't. Hope you find it useful.

Ubiquity__Firefox Add-ons__

It is activated by the keyboard CTRL Space command which displays a transparent black rectangle in the upper left corner of the screen below the Firefox header area. That screen resembles a command line waiting for user input. There are about 50 commands that Ubiquity comes installed with which are the core of the extension. This reaches from posting messages (about a website) to Twitter, looking up information on Wikipedia, performing web searches on various search engines or looking up information on Google Maps. The real benefit for the user is that he does not have to leave the current tab to get the information because everything happens in that black box. Results are shown in that block as well in real time.
