Abu Musa Jābir ibn Hayyān (Persian: جابر ابن حیان) (born c. 721 in Tus, Iran–died c. 815 in Kufa)[2], known by his Latinized name Geber, a prominent Persian and Muslim polymath: a chemist and alchemist, astronomer and astrologer, engineer, geologist, philosopher, physicist, and pharmacist and physician. He is considered by many to be one of the fathers of chemistry".[3] His ethnic background is not clear;[4] although some sources state that he was an Arab[5] other sources introduce him as Persian[6].

In winter 2002 a poster exhibition by Iranian graphic designers called “Un Cri Persan” (A Persian Cry) was held in the city of Echirolles as a part of the Month of Graphic Design in France.
