Coding from Scratch: A Conversation with Virtual Reality Pioneer Jaron Lanier, Part One
answer Right. And it results in a type of error that doesn't teach you anything. You have chaotic errors where all you can say is, "Boy, this was really screwed up, and I guess I need to go in and go through the whole thing and fix it." You don't have errors that are proportionate to the source of the error. And that means you can never have any sense of gradual evolution or approximate systems. So, the real difference between the current idea of software, which is protocol adherence, and the idea I'm discussing, pattern recognition, has to do with the kinds of errors we're creating. We need a system in which errors are more often proportional to the source of the error.

Ru Roh! Adobe Screwed By EcmaScript Standards Agreement
Why does everything suck?: Ru Roh! Adobe Screwed By EcmaScript Standards Agreement
In essence, Adobe has shown up to the prom, but its date has stood it up. ActionScript is now not based on any standard. It is its own, proprietary, albeit open source language. Adobe is on its own island as the rest of the industry moved to some watered down version of what it could have been. I understand why this was necessary. Brenan Eich, the father of JavaScript and the primary person driving the standard certainly didn’t want it this way. But Microsoft was never going to support 4.0.

Archinect : Features : ShowCase: LILYPAD
LILYPAD is touted by Callebaut as a prototypical auto-sufficient amphibious city... a tenable solution to the rising water levels. In addition to providing housing for those displaced by the transforming land/water relationships, LILYPAD also produces sustainable energy for developed regions.
Interesting project. I'm always a bit worried with super structures which are not made of loosely joint small pieces in an organic way. Dinosaurs have disappeared because they were massive structure. In Malaysia, right now, there are big building towers not finished, massive concrete skeleton because of the turn down of the economy a few years ago.
Massive things get eroded like others, but the issue is that they are very hard to fix or remove when things go wrong. The superstructure itself is not sustainable.
