Atelier Hypermédia -Ecole d’Art d’Aix en provence

by Neewok

10 Steps To The Perfect Portfolio Website - Smashing Magazine

by fabifab & 1 other
olio website after all, so your portfolio will determine whether the website is interesting or not. People will want to see your previous work to decide whether you’re good or not and for general interest, to see what you’ve been up to in the past. Depending on what you do, your portfolio should contain big high-quality images, clearly accessible to the user. Always include a link to the live version of the website you worked on, and link your screenshot to the live version (another common convention that people expect). Include a short description for each project, including the different skills that you needed t

High Pages/Sec & Disk Transfers/sec, in the Citrix XenApp / Presentation Server forum on BrianMadden.com

by night.kame

BTW, Just a small rant... The Notes back end is way better than exchange. We were running 2000 users on One domino server with no issues. We have invested in 10 servers for outlook and over a mil in emc consulting. Personally I’m dumfounded at the decision to switch.

Oui mais Exchange c'est top : en plus des problèmes de performance côté serveur, on a les mêmes côté client avec cette bouse d'Outlook !

scraplab — The Scruffying of Print

by karlcow

So you design things with high tolerances and gentle failure modes which still look OK when everything isn’t quite as expected.

This is something that print is going to have to get used to. Slightly messier, with a few more bad line breaks and unbalanced columns.

Between Mission Statement and Parametric Model: Places: Design Observer

by karlcow

The project also didn’t much consider the crews of low-wage farm workers that would be needed to plant and harvest the crops of the ambitious vertical farm; presumably these crews would share elevators and stairwells with the residents of the market-rate condos above.

Sibe 2009

by karlcow

Infrastructure provides the basic needs for society, and sustainable infrastructure systems are essential for the survival, health and well-being of a society. For developing countries, the civil and environmental engineer are at the epicenter in seeking means to enhance human life through modernization of infrastructure as evidenced by provision of shelter, water, and transport, amongst others.

The current rate of urbanization and industrialization has caused a rise in environmental issues, involving environmental mismanagement which has been associated with unforeseen global catastrophes. The problems are further aggravated with environmental degradation such as soil erosion, depletion of water resources, etc.

In order to meet these multifaceted challenges, proper planning, implementation and verification exercises are required, via an integrated, multidisciplinary and holistic approach. The global momentum for sustainable development must now lead to practical applications of the engineering and science of sustainability.

four

by blackgoldfish
Today, my baby, you turn four. When did this happen? Was it not just yesterday that I had to put you inside my coat to keep you warm? Now look at you! Almost as tall as your sister with just as much spunk. Happy Birthday my punkin. What four is looking like so far: You pronounce your Rs as if you lived in Boston your whole life- A feather is a featheh. You sing from dawn to dusk- singsong monologues of your life. You eat a peanut butter sandwich every single day. You wake up hungry and must immediately eat a granola bar or your world collapses. You love coffee Your favorite color is blue You swing so high that I have to hold in my own concern because I see how much you need to do it. When you get mad, I suggest people step away, as you get a bit ferocious. You will brush my hair four an hour straight, and therefore I'll not ever cut it. You like to get your back lightly scratched, just like Mama. Happy Birthday, my sweet girl. Every day with you is a treasure and a surprise. I love you.

No country has perfect system, but there are lessons to learn

by medtours06
Tackling the high cost of health care is politically bruising and difficult work around the world. Among developed countries, only the Norwegians rival our level of spending. The French wrestle with rising costs every year. The Canadians are searching for a better model, and have had their eyes on France. But for all their troubles, the French and the Canadians - two bogeymen in the American reform debate - spend much less and live longer than we Americans.

Coming At You Like A Pydermonkey at Toolness

by karlcow

Pydermonkey’s mission is pretty simple and straightforward: it’s just meant to wrap Spidermonkey’s C API as faithfully as possible—including its debugging API—while enforcing the memory safety that Python is known for. This makes it awfully low-level for casual programmers, but thanks to Python’s awesome support for magic methods, it’s not hard to create high-level wrappers that provide much more convenient bridging between JavaScript and Python code.
