VIDEO: Angelina Jolie joue les lesbiennes Angelina Jolie et Elizabeth Mitchell, la Juliet Burke de "Lost", dans une même scène, il faut remonter à 1998 pour retrouver la perle rare. Rare, car Angelina Jolie est nue et joue une séquence d'amour saphique en compagnie de Liz Mitchell. Une perle, puisque les deux actrices ont atteint depuis cette rencontre à l'écran un certain degré de notoriété qui n'a pas échappé aux producteurs du film. Ceux-ci viennent de ressortir une copie qu'il présente comme non-censurée et en haute définition de Gia, film de télévision réalisé par Michael Cristofer, diffusé il y a onze ans aux Etats-Unis et récompensé par 2 Golden Globes. Il a été diffusé en France à partir de 2001 sous le titre Gia: Femme de rêve. Il s'agit de l'histoire vraie du mannequin Gia Marie Carangi considérée comme la première femme morte du Sida aux Etats-Unis, en 1986 à l'âge de 26 ans, après une vie mouvementée, marquée par l'abus de drogue et les rencontres amoureuses difficiles.

It raises emotions “both for the person being shot and for the person shooting.”

Webdocumentaire, le reportage à l'ère du multimédia - Culture - la-Croix.com

Habituées aux coûts de production de films documentaires ou de reportages vidéo, les chaînes de télévision sont en revanche mieux préparées à investir dans ces nouveaux objets pour leurs propres sites. Arte a ainsi produit pour 216 000 € le webdocumentaire Gaza/Sderot, transformé en un film de 52 minutes diffusé ensuite à l’antenne. De la même façon, France 5 a lancé un appel à projets pour un projet au long cours intitulé Portraits d'un nouveau monde , dont le budget est de 400 000 €.

Ce sont donc vers les différentes maisons de production et de diffusion qui se sont créées ces dernières années (Narrative, Upian) et vers les sites Web de chaînes de télévision ou de radio que se tournent les webdocumentaristes.

Visitors to the Prison Valley site will construct their own narrative. Reaction to the project was mixed. Most commissioning editors loved the interactivity of the site, but questioned whether the topic of the US prison system would prompt interest among European audiences. “Rather than going to the U.S., why didn’t you tackle the situation in the French banlieue for example”, said the BBC’s Nick Fraser.

For the Michael Jackson Memorial piece I worked on, we decided before I left for L.A. that we would use the Canon 5D Mark II to try and push the look of the piece, and to try something new. The first thing I did, is call up a freelancer, Patrick Burke, to run sound. Patrick used to be an AC (Assistant Camera) in L.A. so he came with all the right tools, including a film slate that we used to sync audio from a Marantz PMD660 to the video footage of the 5D.
