ZamfBrowser - Home

by Spone (via)
ZamfBrowser allows developers to unit test ZendAMF Service classes via an Adobe AIR application. Implementation requires a simple edit to the ZendAMF gateway file that allows ZamfBrowser to introspect your server set up and provide access for all classes and methods registered with the Zend_Amf_Server object. For version 1.0 the ZamfBrowser AIR source code is still closed, but it is intended to go Open Source as soon as the source code documentation is complete and a couple of features are implemented that are still in the pipeline.

llimllib's cherry-blossom at master - GitHub

by karlcow

Cherry Blossom is a blogging system written in Python. It was written specifically because I had a lot of pyblosxom blog entries on my previous blog, but I wanted to use cherrypy instead of plain-ol cgi. It adds features like object publishing, session support, access to lots of cherrypy plugins, access to GET and POST vars as method parameters, and others. This software's been running my blog (http://billmill.org) for over two years now, and has survived a couple redditings and a flood from stumbleupon, all without a hiccup.

It's also possible to create some APIs that would tell a website how much bandwidth is available to it, so the developer could adjust its features accordingly. This idea is being tossed around between web companies and operators, but I don't know how much is actually being done about it.

Needle in a haystack: efficient storage of billions of photos | Facebook

by karlcow & 1 other

The Photos application is one of Facebook’s most popular features. Up to date, users have uploaded over 15 billion photos which makes Facebook the biggest photo sharing website. For each uploaded photo, Facebook generates and stores four images of different sizes, which translates to a total of 60 billion images and 1.5PB of storage.
