For if we are observed in all matters, we are constantly under threat of correction, judgment, criticism, even plagiarism of our own uniqueness. We become children, fettered under watchful eyes, constantly fearful that -- either now or in the uncertain future -- patterns we leave behind will be brought back to implicate us, by whatever authority has now become focused upon our once-private and innocent acts. We lose our individuality, because everything we do is observable and recordable.

I Got Next is a free documentary on the fighting video game scene created by Ian Cofino (with much support from my friends, professors, and family). It originally started as my senior project at Purchase College, School of Art and Design, and has grown into something much bigger thanks to the dedicated and passionate players in the community. Originally envisioned as a short documentary, I Got Next has grown into a feature length production, which will see two releases, a short cut which premiered June 26th on ufrag.tv and a feature length cut spring 2010.
Serizawa Keisuke - Children of The Snow

Keisuke Serizawa's original hand-stenciled dye print, "Children of The Snow" highlights the fabric patterns for the children's clothing. This Kataezome is printed upon Japanese hand-made mulberry paper and with full margins as published by the Keisuke Serizawa workshop between 1960 and 1970. It is signed with Serizawa's chopmark signature in the lower right corner.

Nicolai Howalt

Nicolai Howalt (b. 1970) is a photobased artist. Born and based in Denmark.
Nicolai Howalts photographic works carry references to the tradition of documentarism. His work is typically based in specific environments. Boxer (2003) was a photographic portrait project about young boys shot before and after a match. In 2001 Howalt presented the series 3X1 about a family living in a surburban counsil flat. He recieved Niels Wessel Bagge's Art Prize 2008 and the ParisPhoto BMV Special Jury Award 2006. His work is represented in major public and private collections, including Museo de Arte Contemoraneo de Castilla y Leon, Spain. Museum of Fine Art Houston, USA and The Danish Arts Foundation, Denmark, The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, Israel og Maison Européenne de Photographie, Paris.

It is written in python and uses existing popular software such as mplayer, xine and vlc. Primarily aimed at the Linux platform it is also possible to run on OSX and for the determined on Windows. ‘For three periods of one month, I have let the Trans-Siberian train guide me alongside forgotten villages, from living room to living room. Some Russian words scribbled on a little piece of paper allowed me to be welcomed and absorbed in the warm chaos of a family. Accidental encounters led me to the places where I could sleep. The living room, the epicentre of their life, establishes an intimate contact between the Russian inhabitants. In this room, they sleep, eat and drink, as well as cry. For a brief moment, I was part of this. Their couch became my bed for one night. This way, I experienced transient, but very powerful, shared moments. We communicated without words. We understood each other somehow’.

This plugin allows you to get better control on how your categories are listed. It provides a widget which lets you get more options than the default WordPress category widget (show RSS, hide empty categories, etc.). Furthermore, it allows to hide the children categories and use clickable buttons to expand them. The plugin requires jQuery to be included in your theme. It degrades nicely when javascript is not available to the usual WordPress category list.
