The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat has established the Standard on Geospatial Data for the Government of Canada. The Standard on Geospatial Data supports the Policy on Information Management and the Policy on the Management of Information Technology of the Government of Canada. The Standard will facilitate interoperability across institutions and increase their ability to identify, understand, use, and share geospatial data. This standard also allows institutions to maximize the reuse of existing mapping and related products.

I have come to realize how few projects actually follow their companies’ intended design processes. Why is it that so many companies don’t follow their existing processes for software design?

I’m really interested in other approaches that people have used to address the requirement of associating metadata with triples, particularly using RDFa. I’m also interested to know if anyone has existing vocabularies for periods of time with known start/end dates and included dates.

Building an XMPP-enabled Fire Eagle application is very similar to building a traditional web-based application. In fact, the XMPP componentry is intended to complement an existing application, simplifying it and imbuing it with real-time capabilities.
