Potrace(TM) is a utility for tracing a bitmap, which means, transforming a bitmap into a smooth, scalable image. The input is a bitmap (PBM, PGM, PPM, or BMP format), and the default output is an encapsulated PostScript file (EPS).
Potrace can currently produce the following output formats: EPS, PostScript, PDF, SVG (scalable vector graphics), Xfig, Gimppath, and PGM (for easy antialiasing).

Inkscape est un logiciel libre d'édition de graphismes vectoriels, doté de capacités similaires à Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw ou Xara X, utilisant le format de fichiers Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) standard du W3C. Les fonctionnalités supportées du format SVG incluent les formes, les chemins, le texte, les marqueurs, les clônes, les canaux alpha, les transformations, les motifs et les groupements. Inkscape supporte également les méta-données Creative Commons, l'édition de nœuds, les couches, les opérations de chemins complexes, la vectorisation des bitmaps, le texte suivant des chemins, le texte contournant des objets, l'édition XML directe et beaucoup plus. Acer expects to grab 50% share of 2009 netbook market

As for netbooks, Acer shipped around 2.4 million units in the third quarter and with demand for the Aspire one climbing in the US market, the company's shipment in 2008 will reach or surpass its goal of 5-6 million units, according to Gianfranco Lanci, the company president.
Lanci also added that in 2009, the global netbook market scale will expand to 30-35 million units, with Acer to grab a 40-50% share, equivalent to shipments of around 12-15 million units.
Acer has announced results for the third quarter this year with consolidated revenues of NT$159.2 billion (US$5 billion), representing 31% on-year growth. Operating income was US$145 million after expensing employee bonuses and remuneration. Net profit after tax was US$95 million and EPS was NT$1.22.
Combined consolidated revenues in the first three quarters of 2008 were US$12.8 billion, growing by 31% on-year. Operating income reached US$314 million after expensing employee bonuses and remuneration. Net profit after tax was US$278 million and EPS was NT$3.64.
