As a child of the 80s, the Choose Your Own Adventure books were a fixture of my rainy afternoons. My elementary school library kept a low, fairly unmaintained-looking shelf of them hidden in one of its back corners. Whether this non-marquee placement was an attempt by the librarians to deemphasize the books in favor of ‘serious’ (children’s) literature or was simply my good luck I still haven’t worked out. But it meant there was a place that I could retreat to and dive into unfamiliar worlds without distraction.

Beginning in June 2010, a storefront in Coolidge Corner, Brookline, and in Dudley Square, Roxbury will be transformed into large video screens, providing pedestrians of each neighborhood with a portal into one another's worlds. Running 24/7, life-size screen images and AV technology will enable real-time communication between residents of the two neighborhoods.

Veerle, graphic design degree in hand, started Duoh! in 1992, focusing on freelance print work. In 1994, she was wooed by Geert Leyseele. Clutching her strong graphic design principles under one arm, and her heart in the other, she took the leap, and a little while later, beautiful little Duoh! n.v. was born.

As it turned out, Geert wasn't just another pretty face. Veerle's hero brought superpowers to her business: X-ray vision to see around corners into the future of the web, a drive to move to Web Standards, an eye for project management, and the ability to leap wireframes and IA obstacles in a single bound.
When Veerle's blog became famous around the world for her tutorials and insights on design, CSS, and other subjects, fascinated readers saw the picture in the heading and asked, "Is that the designer's girlfriend?" No, it was Veerle, the other happy half of Duoh!

We inhale the richness of life :

* absorbing design (from galaxies to retro menus to bathroom faucets, we see it everywhere)
* putting our minds to design puzzles
* digging deeply into markup and code so our designs can sing

Growing up but staying small
We love what we do and want to do it ourselves, not manage others. We create websites for some Big Clients (and fresh, little start-ups, too), and choose our clients just as carefully as they choose us. Each day, we throw ourselves passionately into the task of becoming better at work and at play. The rest of the Duoh! story? Look around; our work says it all.

Comme sont nom l’indique, le plugin jQuery Round Corners permet d’arrondir les angles d’un ou plusieurs éléments sur votre page HTML.
Grâce a ce plugin, finit les problème d’incompatibilités entre navigateur vu que ce plugin fonctionne sur Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari mais aussi Internet Explorer 6+ (par contre vous devez ajouter le fichier javascript Explorer Canvas pour le faire fonctionner).

Pulse Laser: Here & There influences

I’m going to tell you a little bit about the influences on Here & There, a project about representation of urban places, from when it began. It was warmly received when I first presented some corners of it back at Design Engaged in 2004, before Schulze & Webb existed. Here & There is a projection drawing from maps, comics, television, and games.
This particular version is a horizonless projection in Manhattan. The project page is here, where large prints of the uptown and downtown views can be seen and are available to buy.

SVG_roundies: Code-only rounded HTML boxes with SVG

SVG_roundies is a port of Drew Diller's excellent DD_roundies library. While DD_roundies uses Microsoft's VML to add rounded corners to boxes and thus only works in Internet Explorer this library is based on the W3C standard SVG.
SVG is supported by Firefox, Opera, Safari and Chrome but not by Internet Explorer. That said in practice you want to use DD_roundies and SVG_roundies together. As SVG_roundies is a port of DD_roundies both libraries provide the very same interface and produce the same results. Only their implementation differs. If you know DD_roundies you can use SVG_roundies in a minute.

Architectural features:

Beautiful and fast anti-aliasing for older or stubborn browsers.
Degrades well for browsers with javascript turned off.
