Op Losse Schroeven - situaties en cryptostructuren
This exhibition which caused a great deal of commentary was one of the first manifestations of arte povera, conceptual art and land art in Europe and as such marked an artistic breakthrough for many of the participants. Among the artists are Carl Andre, Giovanni Anselmo, Ben d'Armagnac, Joseph Beuys, Walter de Maria, Jan Dibbets, Barry Flanagan, Jannis Kounellis, Richard Long, Mario Merz, Bob Morris, Bruce Nauman, Dennis Oppenheim, Panamarenko, Rob Ryman, Lawrence Weiner, & Gilberto Zorio.
Unifying the Conversations (Salmon Protocol)
As updates and content flow in real time around the Web, conversations around the content are becoming increasingly fragmented into individual silos. Salmon aims to define a standard protocol for comments and annotations to swim upstream to original update sources -- and spawn more commentary in a virtuous cycle. It's open, decentralized, abuse resistant, and user centric.
Data Visualization: A Primer and Practical Application | eyecube
Good Data Viz can illuminate and educate, inspire and entertain. I also understand that this is an area when I am a student and am happy to turn it over to the pros. So, with this post I want to share some of the smartest stuff I’ve seen, as well as provide you with some original commentary from Patricia McDonald, Planning Director at BBH Labs.

A GALLERY OF 35 ANTI-U.S. CHINESE POLITICAL CARTOONS (circa 1958-1960)
Presenting A GALLERY OF 35 ANTI-U.S. CHINESE POLITICAL CARTOONS (circa 1958-1960) Culled and restored from reviewing hundreds of Eastern newspaper pages and illustrations, this set of 35 images represents what we consider the best late 50s editorial cartoons (Manhua) from China and Indochina. Set during a time of escalating western imperialism, these images react against U.S. military actions in Laos and Vietnam, and represent a unique moment of political commentary. It seems to be a hidden history, too. It's with some pride that we indicate most of these comics have never before been re-published, and even fewer have ever been exhibited or documented for U.S. audiences. Enjoy - Ethan
