Arc's Soy Machine: git vs mercurial

In contrast with my earlier attempts at migrating to git, mercurial was actually a joy to setup on the server. WSGI, using our existing .htusers file from Trac, a small config script, done. This contrast to git which would require some funky SSH sandboxing and/or PAM setup - yes it can be done, but such hacks shouldn't be needed.
To all our surprise "hg clone" was extremely fast even compared to subversion and especially in comparison to git.

Description: SystemRescueCd est un système linux complet, utilisable sous forme d'un CDRom bootable, un "LiveCd". Il ne s'agit pas simplement d'une alternative aux systèmes existants, car le but du projet est de répondre a une attente qui n'était pas satisfaite. Ce CDRom de taille réduite (autour de 230 Mo) offre la possibilité d'effectuer facilement des taches d'administration sur une machine. Les outils systèmes les plus importants sont disponibles. Il est possible de partitionner le disque avec l'outil graphique GParted (clone libre de Partition-Magic), de sauvegarder ses données ou son système, de remettre en place la machine après un plantage, de réactiver le gestionnaire d'amorçage. La distribution offre un support du réseau complet avec notamment Samba/NFS.

Sumo Paint : un clone de Photoshop en ligne - Sumo Paint est une sorte de clone de Photoshop en ligne. Il n'y a pas de logiciel à télécharger et à installer puisque tout se fait en ligne. Bien qu'étant un outil en ligne, Sumo Paint est assez rapide et supporte les filtres, les calques, et autres fonctions que l'on peut trouver sur des logiciels commerciaux.
Voilà donc une solution intéressante pour retoucher rapidement vos photos puisqu'elle est gratuite et sans installation.

with Intel 945GM, Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy, the external VGA monitor is always cloned. Going into System->Preference->Screen Resolution lets you alter the resolution of the LCD and the external monitor, but it stays cloned whether “Clone Screens” is checked or not. Putting monitor to the left or right of the LCD does nothing (stays cloned). However, putting monitor above or below LCD does work (two desktops, one on top of the other).

Another common Git workflow is where there is an integration manager—a single person who commits to the 'blessed' repository, and then a number of developers who clone from that repository, push to their own independent repositories and ask the integrator to pull in their changes. This is the type of development model you often see with open source or GitHub repositories.
