Sunday Morning : jQuery Google Translation

by eledo34 & 2 others (via)

WP-Cycle Plugin — Nathan Rice

by mozkart
The WP-Cycle plugin allows you to upload images from your computer, which will then be used to generate a jQuery Cycle Plugin slideshow of the images. Each image can also be given a URL which, when the image is active in the slideshow, will be used as an anchor wrapper around the image, turning the image into a link to the URL you specified. The slideshow is set to pause when the user hovers over the slideshow images, giving them ample time to click the link. Images can also be deleted via the plugins Administration page.

Fleshmap: Listen: Music

What do we sing about, when we sing about the body? The chart below, based on a sample of thousands songs, tells the story. The size of a circle corresponds to how often that part is mentioned in each genre. Click on a genre name to see a close-up that shows exactly what words were used.

SpriteMe

by parmentierf & 1 other (via)
Background images make pages look good, but also make them slower. Each background image is an extra HTTP request. There's a fix: combine background images into a CSS sprite. But creating sprites is hard, requiring arcane knowledge and lots of trial and error. SpriteMe removes the hassles with the click of a button.

Installation/FromImgFiles - Community Ubuntu Documentation

# Download the desired .img file # Install the usb-imagewriter package * If your release does not include this, download it from Oliver's PPA * If imagewriter fails to launch, you may need to install python glade2 support. Install the python-glade2 package or Run sudo apt-get install python-glade2 * If your release does not include it and you are running 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope then run this command from the console: o sudo apt-get install usb-imagewriter # Open Applications -> Accessories -> Image Writer * KDE users will find this in Applications -> Utilities -> Image Writer * on some usb-imagewriter versions (console command: imagewriter) the application fails to write if the image path contains blank spaces, exiting with "IndexError: list index out of range". Also, in case you prefer to launch it from the command line, don't forget to sudo it, otherwise it will give a permission error. # Insert your flash media # Select the downloaded file and flash device, and click "Write to Device" # Remove your device when the operation is complete
