Brooklyn Museum: Community: bloggers@brooklynmuseum » BklynMuse: Going Mobile with a Gallery Guide Powered by People

by karlcow

Ever wish you could remix the gallery experience? When I walk into a museum I enjoy the structure—the information given, which objects have been placed where, the specific sequence in which the space has been designed—but I will admit, there are times when I want something else too….something that’s a bit off the charts and possibly something that is always subject to change. I’m positive this other need has something to do with all those Choose Your Own Adventure books I was hooked on as a kid.

The Stagg Party | IFC.com Web Series | IFC.com

by sbrothier

"With its rampant female nudity and nonjudgmental "adult industry" theme, the voyeuristic Web hordes will love it. But the show's soft-touch intelligence and compelling characters give it depth." - LA Times (read the full review) About The Stagg Party

The Stagg Party is a documentary web series about Ellen Stagg, a professional photographer in Brooklyn, New York, whose love of photography extends from commercial jobs to more personal erotic work. The series covers topics including how she got interested in photography, how she started shooting nudes, how her work affects her dating life and relationships, what her family thinks about it, how she balances the erotic work with her more mainstream jobs and clients and what it's like being a woman in a field that people usually associate with men.

Brooklyn Museum: Welcome

by sbrothier & 1 other
The Brooklyn Museum, housed in a 560,000-square-foot, Beaux-Arts building, is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the country. Its world-renowned permanent collections range from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art, and represent a wide range of cultures. Only a 30-minute subway ride from midtown Manhattan, with its own newly renovated subway station, the Museum is part of a complex of nineteenth-century parks and gardens that also includes Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and the Prospect Park Zoo.
