Juxt Interactive

by sbrothier & 1 other
UXT is a company that creates from the ground up, top to bottom, or even sideways. It kinda makes sense since we were started by a couple of architects. Lots of people ask us if we only do digital work. Well we like to think and play where people are, and these days that just happens to be the Internet. That suits us just fine because the online space has far less restrictions and barriers than other media. Juxt does not take kindly to limits, or being put in a box.

How to Design a Tumblelog Theme for WordPress | Digging into WordPress

by mozkart
Tumblelogs are a great way to streamline mixed-media blogging for different types of content. Commonly used tumblelog topics include “Links”, “Photos”, “Quotes”, “Dialogue”, and “Video”. A good tumblelog presents each these different topics with its own unique format while retaining an overall sense of cohesion throughout the entire design. A good example of this involves the clever way in which titles for “Link-category” posts link to the showcase URL rather than to the post itself. Other post types may be styled with different colors, meta information, and anything else that seems appropriate. Bottom line is that a well-designed tumblelog makes it easy and fun to showcase and organize a wide variety of different content types all in one place. Although I prefer to tumble via my Tumblr account, I have always wanted to integrate the process into WordPress by designing a tumblelog-style theme. So in this brisk tutorial, that’s exactly what we’re going to do. The goals of our Tumble Theme are as follows: Create categories for each content type: Links, Photos, Quotes, Dialogue, and Video Create unique category, single, and index views for each content type Make post title links for the Link category point to the showcase URL instead of the post itself Also provide a link to the post itself (i.e., single view) for posts in the Link category

Illimitux :Supprimez les limitations sur Megavideo, Veoh, MegaUpload et Rapidshare.: Modules pour Firefox

by decembre & 2 others
Supprimez les limitations imposées des plateformes de streaming. Son but est de visualiser sans aucune restriction les vidéos hébergées chez Megavideo, Veoh, MegaUpload et Rapidshare. _____For me it works for both Megaupload and megavideo ( i didn't tried rapidshare) : 1) for megaupload , with CS Lite i block megaupload.com cookie (whitelist mode) and i can do as much downlaods as i want 2) for megavideo , i block megavideo.com cookie of course , but i also have to use flashblock (an addon) : it blocks the megavideo player (megavideopalyer.swf) and a strange flash object at the bottom of the page called "cookie.swf" (you know what it would mean) . and , to conclude with i delete Flash Cookies staticmegavideo.com (3 or 4 LSOs) with Better Privacy addon (last version is 1.41 on irts website ) at each end of session.01.09.2009

A surreal concept where there is a city of no horizon. I love how it looks on the shirt, endless flow of river towards bottom and infinite extension of sky towards top.

The Movie Dude script - Cross-links various movie related sites that normally don't link to each other - (Greasemonkey Script)

by decembre & 1 other
It grew out of a desire to have links between NetFlix and IMDB movie pages, to be able to easily get to movie trivia or add movies to my queue. Links are added to these sites: * The Internet Movie Database * NetFlix * BlockBuster.com (and UK) * Yahoo! Movies * Rotten Tomatoes * Roger Ebert * Amazon * All Movie Guide * GreenCine * Metacritic * FilmAffinity * Intelliflix * Flixster * Slant * Wikipedia (English) * FilmSpot * Fandango * Wal*Mart Use the menu item "Tools | User Script Commands | Movie Dude Settings..." to select which sites to link to. A settings bar will appear at the bottom of the page. For example, if you never want to see links to Blockbuster, uncheck it on the settings bar. You can display links as text, icons or both.

Venture Chronicles

by e_D_D_y & 1 other
My name is Jeff Nolan and I write Venture Chronicles. What started, in 2002, as a simple initiative to understand this thing called “blogs” that I kept hearing about has evolved into something much more significant. Along the way to becoming a bona fide blogger I started to understand the implications of user generated content. At the time I was a venture capitalist for SAP, the enterprise software company, and in my travels in the enterprise software market it became evident that blogging would be a powerful communication channel for enterprises to use, and a powerful information collection mechanism for bottom up corporate intelligence. Combined with search technology, social networking software, and wikis, I was witnessing the inception of an entirely new generation of knowledge management software. I can be reached at jnolan-at-gmail-dot-com.

Main Page - MobileDesign

by karlcow

Mobile design resources are provided free by the leader in mobile user experience consulting, Little Springs Design.

Designing mobile user interfaces grows ever more interesting. Device and network capabilities are improving, platforms are giving us more features to help the user, privacy and security are becoming more important, and device proliferation is both increasing and decreasing.

This wiki aims to be the authoritative resource for all things related to the art and science of mobile user interface design*. While it is maintained by Little Springs Design, content comes from various sources and is shared freely (see license info at bottom of the page). Please use, reuse, and edit.

Mobile design is not monolithic. It depends on the device characteristics and platform capabilities. Thus each page in this site has header information indicating what devices, device characteristics, and patterns the page applies to.

Beirut : la Black Session (2007)

by rickydrier
This session was recorded around November of 2007. It was broadcast by radio station Frnace Inter. The session features covers of Jacques Brel's 'Le Moribond', Kocani Orkestar's 'Siki Siki Baba' and Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah', which I have only found before in a really bad quality recording. If you haven't listened to Zach Condon's albums you should. You can download the whole session at the bottom and preview a few of the tracks.

Alex Payne — The Problem With Email Clients

by karlcow 2 comments

In desktop email clients, new messages arrive completely bereft of context. The only way to orient yourself is to either remember what the conversation was about or read through the mess of quoted text that may or may not be present at the bottom of the message, depending on what kind of email client or prefences the sender has. You could try searching to re-orient yourself, but good luck with that in Outlook or Mail.app.
