(Field)

by karlcow

— a development environment for making digital art

Field is an open-source software project initiated by OpenEnded Group, for the creation of their digital artworks. It is an environment for writing code to rapidly and experimentally assemble and explore algorithmic systems. It is visual, it is hybrid, it is code-based. We think that it has something to offer a diverse range of programmers and artists.

Based on ideas started at the MIT Media Lab, Field was in development in-house for around 6 years. But for the last 16 months it has been quietly available online as an open source project. We are pleased to announce the initial "beta" binary open-source releases for Intel-based Macs OS X 10.5 or 10.6.

Square

by sbrothier & 2 others
In February 2009, Jim McKelvey wasn’t able to sell a piece of his glass art because he couldn’t accept a credit card as payment. Even though a majority of payments has moved to plastic cards, accepting payments from cards is still difficult, requiring long applications, expensive hardware, and an overly complex experience. Square was born a few days later right next to the old San Francisco US Mint. Today the Square team is focused on bringing immediacy, transparency, and approachability to the world of payments: an inherently social interaction each of us participates in daily. We’re starting with a limited beta and rolling out to everyone in early 2010.

Médias sociaux » Archive du blog » Un pas de plus vers le web social en temps réel avec Cliqset

by Nissone
Cliqset’s Real-Time Community. Pour faire simple, Cliqset est un service d’agrégation qui permet de compiler votre activité sur les différents médias sociaux (70 services en tout), de les retraiter en un format standardiser (Activity Streams) et de le rendre accessible (au travers d’API) dans un flux unique et temps réel."

UniView 5.1.0 (© Richard Ishida)

by ycc2106
What is UniView? An XHTML-based application to look up characters, character blocks, paste in and discover unknown characters, search for characters, do hex/dec/ncr conversions, highlight character types, etc. etc. It supports Unicode 5.2(beta) and is written with Web Standards to work on all major browsers. It is based on XHTML, JavaScript, PHP and AJAX technologies, so you don't need to download anything. How do I use it? I suggest you check out the help file for instructions and new features first. Then just go to the UniView page. Note that you must have JavaScript enabled. Annotated link http://www.diigo.com/bookmark/http%3A%2F%2Frishida.net%2Fscripts%2Funiview

Is it really the case?

HTML5 Validator Needs Updating. from Maykel Loomans on 2009-10-20 (www-validator@w3.org from October 2009)

by night.kame

Ever since the HTML5 footer has been redefined I have changed the markup of http://www.miekd.com/

At the current stage, the validator has still not been updated to

match this spec change. I am aware of the giant draft/beta sticker on

the validator, but I would really love to have an up-to-date validator.

Encore un qui n'a rien compris à HTML 5, mwahahahaha.

sIFR Documentation

by ycc2106 & 1 other
sIFR (or Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) is a technology that allows you to replace text elements on screen with Flash equivalents. sIFR is the result of many hundreds of hours of designing, scripting, testing, and debugging by Mike Davidson and Mark Wubben. Mike, Mark and an invaluable stable of beta testers, supporters, and educators like Stephanie Sullivan and Danilo Celic of Community MX completely rebuilt a DOM replacement method originally conceived by Shaun Inman into a high quality cross-browser, cross-platform typography solution for the masses.
