Open Archives content added to WorldCat.org - WorldCat Blog

More than 23 million records have been added to WorldCat.org results this month from a group project called OAIster.
OAIster represents the initiatives that many libraries, museums and archives have taken in recent years to digitize their historic artifacts and make them open to the online world. Including them now in WorldCat increases the visibility of these collections and ensures continued access.

What Browser? - Home

A few of us at Google created WhatBrowser.org to help teach people about web browsers. We wanted to show people that they have a lot of choice in browsers, since we noticed that most people were using the browser their computers came with.

"A Google map plotting all the best college and non-commercial radio stations using the actual GPS coordinates of their transmitters as listed in the dreaded FCC database. Right-click a station (the tower icon, not the label) to stream it directly, or left-click to see a bubble with a bunch of info including studio phone number, online archives, homepage, etc., and zoom all the way in to see the transmitter antenna."

A tuner for college and community radio stations. The stations are from goodradio.org so should stay reasonably up to date. Touch the sides of the screen for next and previous channel. After some testing it seems that Widgets, since they must use Flash for streaming, aren't the most reliable way to stream radio. If you like this widget you might go to gizmoware.net/chumby for a version that runs off a thumbdrive and is much more reliable.

This plugin allows site admins to remove widgets from the dashboard. In addition, site admins can override the feed, title, and URL of the primary feed widget (the development blogs widget). Changing the primary feed removes the ability for users to edit the feed via the widget control.
