Radiohead held an online contest to remix "Nude" from their album - "In Rainbows" This was quite a difficult task for everybody that entered, as Nude is in 6/8 timing, and 63bpm. Most music that's played in clubs is around 120bpm and usually 4/4 timing. It's pretty difficult to seamlessly mix a waltz beat into a DJ set.

The “deluxe album” format from the iTunes Store is an attempt to revitalize music sales by providing an immersive digital experience complete with detailed art reminiscent of when people used to buy records. Feature-wise, an iTunes LP is a DRM-free album in high-quality 256kbps AAC format, along with digital extras (visualizer(s), photos, videos and interviews) wrapped in a custom WebKit-powered site.

Blakroc's self-titled debut LP is out on November 27 and features an impressive guest list : The Black Keys, Mos Def, RZA, Raekwon, Q-Tip, Ludacris, Pharoahe Monch, M.O.P.'s Billy Danze, Jones, and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard. Together, the dudes are establishing their own label, Blakroc, to release the album.

Weird, sometimes funny, sometimes sad but decidedly interesting slides of the 20th Century. All of them were up for grabs at estate sales or garage sales or in the trash, their owners long gone. So I came to the rescue with my trusty scanner and Photoshop.
Some of the slides had labels and others needed labels. I provide song lyrics when inspired.

Pour le plaisir des yeux, on se laissera volontiers séduire par ce petit album carré qui nous propose un spectacle de cirque. Tous les artistes sont réunis sous le chapiteau : Prodiceps l’homme fort, Fratercula le magicien, Brillantine l’acrobate… Les petites figurines fabriquées par Joséphine Brothier ont été modelées avec une finesse étonnante et le rendu des postures est remarquable. La magie de la photographie et de l’éclairage en font les héros d’une fantasmagorie éblouissante. La mise en page est parfaite. Les courts textes qui accompagnent les images me paraissent, en revanche, superflus (mis à part les noms savoureux donnés aux personnages) ; mieux vaudra laisser parler les petits devant ce joli spectacle qui leur plaira d’autant plus s’ils ont déjà connu l’expérience d’aller au cirque.
