Il est généralement admis (mais ceci n’a rien d’exhaustif) que le web 2.0 favoriserait l’interaction lecteur / bloggueur, l’usage du multimédia, la collaboration en ligne, l’immédiateté, pourrait modifier les modes de fonctionnement des équipes en entreprises (emplois du temps partagés….), le partage de photos, de documents en ligne …. Un web interactif qui s’éloignerait des sites informationnels, statiques, vitrines de première génération. Mais la définition reste bien évidemment à enrichir car elle est aussi vaste que les pratiques des internautes. Soudainement cette notion aux contours très flous de 2.0 fait son apparition à propos de séries télévisuelles.
