Detroit is one of the most visually interesting cities in the world however it is also one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented cities.
le jardin roerich | the roerich garden project » About

This book is about lot #2334609, a piece of land known locally as the Maguire Meadow, one of the last undeveloped spaces in the Mile End neighborhood in the Plateau Mont Royal, in Montreal.

Lot #2334609 is a terrain vague — owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway, owned by the City of Montreal as of June 2009, used and cherished by the community, the only green space in the Mile End. People feel free in this space. They don’t ask for permission to picnic, grow things, create art, or gather around a campfire. It’s open and wild, unlike most city parks.

To outsiders, it may look like an abandoned field. But, as you will read here, the community has appropriated this space and wants a say in how it will be developed. Development is scheduled for 2009-2010, as part of the city’s $9-million revitalization of the neighborhood.

Remembering Bogle Chandler - an interactive narrative

The half-naked bodies of a brilliant scientist called Dr Gilbert Bogle and his philandering lover Margaret Chandler were found on a Sydney riverbank in 1963. Shrouded in mystery, a series of forensic dead-ends led to wild theories that ranged from LSD ingestion to Cold War assassination – but even now, the cause remains unclear. Australian new media artist Rebecca Young created this brilliant interactive web documentary that presents you, the Internaut, with a choice of trajectories and timelines through which to explore the surprisingly gnarly details of the events leading to their deaths.

During the 1960s and 1970s Japanese film-makers produced a series of films of unprecedented sexual candour. Returning to this legendary period of 'pink films', Matt Palmer and Jasper Sharp celebrate the aesthetic achievements of these erotic masterpieces.

it's kind of funny to see all these old trends which were considered as very bad at a time coming back through the intellectuals channels as a genre worth exploring I guess time and a bit of fetichism

Internet Archive: Details: Wuthering Heights

Librivox recording of Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.
Read by Zachary Brewster-Geisz, Geoff Cowgill, Michelle Crandall, hosmer_angel, Lee Ann Howlett, Larysa Jaworski, JemmaBlythe, Lady Maria, Lord Peter, Martina, Mellors, Alison Raouf, scrappylibrarian and Jennifer Stearns.

A tale of passion set in the bleak Yorkshire moors in mid 19thC, far from the Victorian uprightness, Wuthering Heights depicts the mutual love of Catherine and Heathcliff till destruction rends the narration; yet cruelty is only to be met with forgiveness in the following generations. Romantic, impassioned and wild, it is also a dark journey in the human soul.

(Summary by Lady Maria).
