realStorage is meant to create a consistent API for the W3C Web Storage key/value store specification (i.e. work around browser bugs). It also adds some convenience functions to help flesh out the localStorage key/value API. And when Web Storage is not available, a Gears fallback is provided.
realStorage 2.0 is now officially released. For those that don't know, realStorage is a compatibility library that handles browser incompatibilities for the W3C Web Storage API as of August.
This is a general overview table; a Yes here does not mean a browser supports every tiny detail of the specification correctly. Instead, it means that it supports a workable subset of the specification. The Safari Tidy plugin is a small plugin that lets you validate the webpages you browse for (x)html compliance. The actual validation is done by Tidy and the W3C validator. This plugin was initially modeled after a similar plugin for Firefox, which can be found here.

Raphaël is a small JavaScript library that should simplify your work with vector graphics on the web. If you want to create your own specific chart or image crop and rotate widget, for example, you can achieve it simply and easily with this library.
Raphaël uses the SVG W3C Recommendation and VML as a base for creating graphics.

En dehors des inénarrables problèmes de sécurité et de performance inhérents à Internet Explorer 6, ce dernier est surtout considéré comme responsable du ralentissement de l'"avancée du web". En effet, au lieu de se concentrer totalement sur le respect des standards du consortium W3C, les développeurs sont régulièrement obligés de concevoir une version alternative du site pour ce navigateur, afin que tous les internautes puissent accéder au site web dans des conditions convenables. Et à l'heure où des sites comme YouTube ou Facebook sont toujours à a la recherche d'un modèle de croissance rentable pour engranger du cash, la décision de ne plus supporter IE6 dans les prochaines semaines n'y est sans doute pas étrangère
]]>Vous connaissez sûrement les .mp3, un format de musique compressée. Le problème est que c’est un format fermé (comme tant d’autre malheureusement).Ogg Vorbis. L’ensemble des type Ogg Vorbis (.ogg, .oga, .ogv, …) permet de diffuser du contenu dans un format libre. Il est notamment intégré dans Firefox 3.5 et il est recommandé par le W3C. Ce sont des formats modernes puisqu’ils permettent de garder une bonne qualité avec un poids minimum. Techniquement, pour rendre un fichier réutilisable, une très bonne solution est de l’écrire en respectant les normes XML puis de le compresser (avec l’algorithme lzma par exemple).

Qu'est-ce que c'est le HTML 5 ? Comme son nom l'indique, HTML 5 est le successeur de HTML 4.01. Le travail sur HTML 5 a commencé fin 2003 grâce à un groupe de travail indépendant, mais ce n'est qu'en 2007 que le W3C officialise HTML5 en intégrant en son sein ce groupe de travail. À partir de là s'est fait un gros travail afin de permettre à HTML 5 d'être rétrocompatible avec ses ancêtres, ce qui a quelque peu ralenti son développement.
