The Big Board is a real-time collaborative environment for mapping. Users open “conference rooms” on a shared map, and join conversations in these conference rooms, much like in a regular teleconferencing application. However, instead of sharing faces and powerpoints and speech over the wire, users draw on and add content to a shared map or very large image.

With no planning, we all started acting as if we were people in a real office. Almost immediately we began to adopt characters and send officious announcements. Soon we were referring to characters in the office who didn’t exist in real life. Meeting rooms were booked, couriers arrived, servers went down, timesheets were requested, and embarrassing emails were accidentally sent to everyone in the company.

Finally, a greenhouse which can also accommodate people: the Camouflage House. Why should we continue considering that greenhouses are suitable only for plants? It's not the case anymore. This house by Hiroshi Iguchi is part of the Fifth World project which aims to promote eco friendly, sustainable architecture. The house takes natural elements and blends them all into the design of the interior. Warm, natural materials are used. Wood for the floors, light, traditional Japanese panels for compartments and white canvas to protect the interior from excessive heat. Even more, some of the trees were literally incorporated into the house, by letting them grow up to the sky in between the walls of the house. The rooms just go around them, surrounding all four sides and making themselves one with the green environment. Living close to the heart of nature was never so well understood and put into practice. A Camouflage House by Hiroshi Iguchi? Yes, please!

It is a large shell-shaped structure in the middle of the woods, perfectly integrated into nature. Within it one finds constructed floors, walls that separate spaces, and furnished rooms. The natural scenery conjures up a kind of sci-fi film image, in which locals inhabit an abandoned spacecraft.
