After yesterday's first part of my report on Parrworld. The Collection of Martin Parr, here's a quick (and very sloppy i'm afraid) focus on his private collection of photographs. The artist's interest in social themes finds an echo in these documentary photographs. About the Photographer: I mostly enjoy combining photography with both travel and the outdoor landscape. This activity began informally as I started to cover my bland office wall with pictures taken while hiking or traveling remote destinations. Over the past couple years, my interest has grown as I've followed the works of outdoor and adventure photographers. I began with a 35mm SLR, stepped up to a 6x7 medium format camera, and also began using 4x5 large format equipment. More recently, most of my images are made on Nikon's D700 digital SLR camera.
It starts by including citizen to elicit and describe the local dynamics and needs to feed the data analysis process of their city. They can create their own point of view with the ability to observe and capture their environment. This potential to capture, observe and replay the city echoes very well with the recent interest of some architects, urban planners and designers in unconventional data sources (e.g. beyond traditional surveys). But how does it integrate into the current practice? Is there a spot for some vernacularism? How can urban scouts and urban safaris communicate with practitioners and decision makers?

One of the infrastructure tools that we've identified for the future internal architecture of Second Life is messaging. Message queuing systems allow systems that send messages to not have to worry about how they will be delivered, and allow consumers of messages to gather whichever ones interest them, at their own pace.

After receiving a degree in Advertising Graphics and Communication he began his professional career as an art director of a prominent advertising agency in Milan. His interest in photography began when he shot his first images using an old family-owned Leica. During the following years he left his position at the advertising firm to devote himself entirely to photography. His works have been exhibited in public and private institutions in U.S.A., Italy, Germany, England and Japan. Since 2001 he work as freelance photographer in advertising and editorial assignments.
