Unetbootin, vous permet d’installer une distribution Linux sur une clé USB. Plus précisément, c’est un installateur très simple pré-programmé pour : * une vingtaine de distributions GNU/Linux mais aussi BSD [1] ; * une petite dizaine d’utilitaires d’administration de système (Parted Magic, Super Grub Disk, Ophcrack, etc.). L’installation peut se faire sur tous supports amovibles mais aussi sur une partition de votre disque-dur. Libre à vous de choisir d’autres distributions que celles pré-programmées, il suffit d’indiquer à Unetbootin la localisation de l’image disque présente sur votre disque dur. Du coup, pour le chargement de l’image disque d’une distribution, vous pouvez vous passer de connexion internet et de CD.

Users running just Vista, and not dual-booting with Windows XP will have to wait until GRLDR supports the Vista bootloader. Q. My Windows partition is not the first partition on my first hard drive. If you have a server with more than 4GB RAM and want to install a 32bit Debian Etch on it (following this tutorial: Debian Etch And Xen From The Debian Repository), you'd expect the Xen-PAE kernel to see all your RAM because the Xen-PAE kernel supports up to 64GB RAM. In fact, it recognizes only about 3.3GB RAM due to a bug in the GRUB bootloader. This article explains how you can fix GRUB so that all your RAM gets recognized. I do not issue any guarantee that this will work for you!

A RAID device is a Redundant Array of Independent Disks. We detail here a specific instance we use: software RAID1 using IDE disks on a Dell PowerEdge box running Debian "sarge" loaded with grub, managed by mdadm, using the ext3 journaling file system.
