Voici un projet open-source qui dépasse le simple cadre de l’installation simplifiée de WordPress, mais peut déjà rendre un fier service sur ce domaine. La Distribution est un projet du français François Hodierne (déjà créateur de BlogMarks.net), dont l’objectif est de simplifier “la distribution et la gestion du cycle de vie des applications web”. Dans les faits, à partir du moment où La Distribution est installé chez vous, vous pouvez installer n’importe quelle application reconnue par LD en un clic. Parmi ces applications se trouvent DokiWiki, Gallery, bbPress, MoonMoon, Laconica, SPIP, Habari, RoundCube… et bien sûr WordPress.

The Dell 3330dn is a new network-ready monochrome laser printer, designed for business environments. The printer delivers up to 40 letter-sized pages per minute, with a first print-out time of 7 seconds. It has a maximal print resolution of 1200×1200dpi and a duty cycle of 80,000 pages per month.
The WP-Cycle plugin allows you to upload images from your computer, which will then be used to generate a jQuery Cycle Plugin slideshow of the images. Each image can also be given a URL which, when the image is active in the slideshow, will be used as an anchor wrapper around the image, turning the image into a link to the URL you specified. The slideshow is set to pause when the user hovers over the slideshow images, giving them ample time to click the link. Images can also be deleted via the plugins Administration page.

The jQuery Cycle Plugin is a lightweight slideshow plugin. Its implementation is based on the InnerFade Plugin by Torsten Baldes, the Slideshow Plugin by Matt Oakes, and the jqShuffle Plugin by Benjamin Sterling. It supports pause-on-hover, auto-stop, auto-fit, before/after callbacks, click triggers and many transition effects. It also supports, but does not require, the Metadata Plugin and the Easing Plugin. How it Works The plugin provides a method called cycle which is invoked on a container element. Each child element of the container becomes a "slide". Options control how and when the slides are transitioned.

Un retour d'expérience sur le semi-échec d'un projet mené selon un cycle en V.
La Distribution a pour mission la distribution et la gestion du cycle de vie des applications web. En mettant l'installation d'applications web personnelles à la portée de tous, nous souhaitons démocratiser leur usage. Nous voulons ainsi permettre à chaque personne de se constituer facilement une véritable suite applicative, précisément adaptée à ses besoins. La finalité du projet est d'aider nos utilisateurs, grâce à ces applications, à sortir des plate-formes propriétaires, à reprendre le contrôle de leur vie numérique.
Quand j'ai commencé à créer des applications Web plus sophistiquées, les abstractions offertes par Web Forms, comme les contrôles, l'état d'affichage et le cycle de vie de page, ont commencé à m'irriter au lieu de m'aider.
