Here's an overview of the algorithm: 1. If necessary, pre-load the image. 2. Determine the CSS styles for the image (float and padding). 3. Create a canvas element and set its dimensions to the size of the image plus its padding. 4. Draw the image onto the canvas in the top-left location. 5. Figure out the "background" color of the image by examining the pixel data at the top-left corner of the image. 6. Fill the canvas with this background color.
realStorage is meant to create a consistent API for the W3C Web Storage key/value store specification (i.e. work around browser bugs). It also adds some convenience functions to help flesh out the localStorage key/value API. And when Web Storage is not available, a Gears fallback is provided.

The new browser is very early in the development process. It’s only been in development for three weeks, as Windows 7’s release took precedent, thus there are not many details for IE9. However, the theme seems to be that IE9 is going to adhere and even improve upon web standards (albeit “responsibly”).
Protovis composes custom views of data with simple marks such as bars and dots. Unlike low-level graphics libraries that quickly become tedious for visualization, Protovis defines marks through dynamic properties that encode data, allowing inheritance, scales and layouts to simplify construction. Protovis is free and open-source, provided under the BSD License. It uses JavaScript and SVG for web-native visualizations; no plugin required (though you will need a modern web browser)! Although programming experience is helpful, Protovis is mostly declarative and designed to be learned by example.

Just for our World Company sites, we have over 50 different settings files, and this doesn't take into account the sites that we host for other clients. At this size it becomes basically impossible to test each site in a browser when you push things to production. To solve this problem I have written a very basic server description tool. This allows you to describe sites (settings file, python path, url, etc.) and servers.

WordNet is also freely and publicly available for download. WordNet's structure makes it a useful tool for computational linguistics and natural language processing.
