Pixelise is an XML publishing System that allows you to process and display complex XML document collections on the web.
From business reports to ancient manuscripts, Pixelise allows you to quickly provide a fast and elegant web interface using a friendly high-level programming interface.
Pixelise is written in Python and depends on Django and Berkeley DB XML.
You can also import your XML documents from other XML publishing systems.

]]>Memcachedb is a distributed key-value storage system designed for persistent. It is not a cache solution, but a persistent storage for high-frequency writing and reading. It conforms to memcache protocol(not completed, see below), so any memcached client can have connectivity with it. Memcachedb uses Berkeley DB as a storing backend, so lots of features including transaction and replication are supported.

A RAID device is a Redundant Array of Independent Disks. The concept was developed in 1987 at UC Berkeley and involves the creation of a virtual disk from multiple small disks in order to deliver improved performance and reliability. There are many flavors of RAID and lots of variations in how to implement it. We detail here a specific instance we use: software RAID1 using IDE disks on a Dell PowerEdge box running Debian "sarge" loaded with grub, managed by mdadm, using the ext3 journaling file system.

To summarize and conclude, let me tone down my claim. The Semantic Web is not dead; but the grand vision of “A Semantic Web” will not be achieved, despite Tim’s noble efforts. Instead, we will see the Emerging-Semantics Web, derived from how people/developers use lightweight formats and tags on popular platforms such as Flickr and YouTube.

This is a simple bit of documentation for the bsddb3.db Python extension module which wraps the Berkeley DB 3.x or 4.x C library. The extension module is located in a Python package along with a few pure python modules.
